Mechanic

FOLT, part of Smart Mobility Innovations B.V. in Leusden, is immediately looking for a mechanic.

  • Type of employment: Full-time (40 hours) or Part-time (32 hours)
  • Salary: €2,725 gross per month (including holiday pay and pension build-up) based on 40 hours

At FOLT, we assemble five models of electric folding bikes. An electric bike consists of hundreds of parts that all need to be assembled in a specific way to ultimately be able to ride. We do this from our workshop in Leusden.

As a mechanic, you will support our small team in the workshop with assembling electric bikes and sorting inventory. Additionally, you help with adjusting and repairing customer bikes when needed. If you have a driver's license, you can also drive routes through the Netherlands and Belgium for service and delivery. Occasionally, you may also help receive customers who come to pick up their bike and guide them during test rides.

Activities

The activities include:

  • Assembly of electric folding bikes
  • Possibly guiding test rides and delivering bikes to customers
  • Possibly also delivery to customers if you have a driver's license

Job Requirements

We are mainly looking for motivated individuals who know how to get things done. Technical aptitude or interest is desirable but not necessary.

What does a day at FOLT look like?

We start around 09:00 with a cup of coffee or tea and review the planning for that day. Are there test riders? How many? Are customers coming to pick up their new bike? Do we have enough in stock, does the ordered configuration match the bikes that are ready? We also discuss new orders and any particularities in the supply of parts.

Throughout the day, assembly, guiding customers, and delivering bikes will alternate. Actually, no day is the same. In the afternoon, we provide a nice lunch and if weather and time permit, a walk. Then a phone call comes in, a customer would like their bikes delivered. You load a couple of bikes into our company van and deliver these to the customer. Around 5 in the afternoon, we check if the planning for the next day is still realistic and sweep the floor. Time to go.
